AMERICA LOVES PALASTINE

America's 'love' for Palestine! From time to time in history there are rare and unusual cases where we cannot believe our eyes. It happened in the Security Council on Monday. The United States was absent from the vote on a resolution calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire to end Israeli occupation of Gaza. In October, Hamas militants launched a surprise attack, killing 1,200 Israeli civilians and taking 250 hostages. Many people were injured in that incident. It is estimated that there are still 134 people in the prison of that organization. Since then, Israel has retaliated by firing missiles at the populated areas of Gaza. Bombs are ringing. 32,000 Palestinian civilians have been killed so far in these incessant attacks. Millions were seriously injured. There are no shortage of instances of starving people being brutally treated and shot dead in the name of controlling them when they board vehicles carrying food. Lack of fresh water, food and medicines are not all the hardships faced by the Palestinian citizens. The genocide and destruction that Israel is waging is unprecedented in modern history. America and Western countries, which are used to defending Israel, have seen all this indifferently. At first they commented that it was not the same thing. They have vetoed all three resolutions passed so far in the Security Council condemning Israel. When US President Joe Biden commented that 'civilian deaths are customary in war', there was a global outcry. On the one hand, providing arms and other war materials to Israel, defending its atrocities on international platforms, and on the other hand, telling the country to be careful about civilian areas, Amrika spent her time. It argued that Israel's attacks will not stop until Hamas is so stubborn, and that if they do, it will strengthen the militant organization. Due to international and domestic pressures, she was absent from the voting on the resolution against Israel after almost being killed. It is actually an eye-wiping action. It would have been different to support that decision and say that even revenge has limits. It would have been sensible to have announced that all aid to Israel will be stopped from now on. Instead of all of them, absentee voting will not have much impact. No one is justifying the terrorist attack by Hamas. Its aggressive antics undermine the goal of independent governance, and many organizations around the world have argued that taking action against ordinary citizens is not the solution to the inhumane acts of states. But the atrocities carried out by Israel in the last seven decades are nothing less. In fact, the solution has become complicated due to the attitude of the right-wing parties to provoke nationalism in Israel under the pretext of the Palestinian issue and spend money in the elections. The desperation of the Palestinian citizens gave rise to the militant organizations. The attitude of the United States and the West, which ignored the Palestinian sentiments and led to the emergence of Israel and indulged in its aggressions, also strengthened the militants. The absence of the United States from vetoing the Security Council resolution is obviously not going down well with Israel. The prime minister of that country, Netanyahu, was shocked. A high-level delegation's trip to Washington for talks with Joe Biden was canceled at the last minute. If you look back at history, you will see that Israel has stood by America at every turn. To belittle or foolishly defend its forms is an eyesore. At the same time, Israel's disregard for American interests in every case is also evident. This year's US presidential election and the Israeli forces continuing the massacre has become a problem for Biden. On the one hand, Biden's way of supporting Israel in every way, but not affecting it in the slightest, shows weakness. He realized that all this was finally going to damage his victory. Consequently, a different position was taken in the Security Council. America says that this is in line with their policy, but Israel's response can tell what the truth is. A Security Council resolution calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Although the resolution wishes to remain in force till the end of the month of Ramzan, if the tensions subside during this period...if the hostages are released, it will contribute to peace. What could be more desirable if that evolution leads to a permanent solution to the problem? Let go of the yoke of Israel. There must be an end to the murderous attacks in Gaza. He should accept an inquiry into the atrocities committed by his army.
